Picturing a World

American Women Artists: 1860–1960

Exhibition alert: A show of twenty-five works by American women artists is on view at Avery Galleries, 100 Chetwynd Drive, Bry Mawr, Pennsylvania, October 13–November 10, 2017.

I chose this image from the exhibitionbecause as the days darken, it’s good to remember summer, because it reminded me of Berthe Morisot’s On the Beach, and because Elizabeth Wentworth Roberts was one more American woman who studied at the Académie Julian.

The Concord Art web page Our Founder: Elizabeth Wentworth Roberts includes a short video and a monograph for download.
