Carolus-Duran
at about the same time as Jeanette. Notice that the woman is seated at a table intended for one, whereas the other table has glasses for two. I can’t tell what is at her right hand, but I love imagining that it is a sketchbook and pencil. The windmill implies that the café is on Montmartre.
